Is it legal to use an uncensored AI image generator?
This is general information, not legal advice. Laws differ by country and, in some countries, by state. If you are unsure, ask a lawyer where you live.
Usually lawful
In many places, an adult generating mature images of fictional adults for private use is lawful. The tool and the model are not the issue; what the image shows and who it shows is.
Illegal almost everywhere
- Sexual images of anyone under 18, including drawn or AI generated ones in many countries.
- Sexual images of a real person made without their consent, including deepfakes.
- Using images to harass, defraud or impersonate someone.
Things that vary
- Age verification rules for adult content differ widely and have been tightening.
- Some places restrict certain violent or obscene material.
- Copyright and likeness rights differ by country.
How Ablate handles it
Two things stay blocked on every model: sexual content involving anyone under 18 (including drawn, anime and "fictional" characters), and sexual content of real, identifiable people. Sexual edits of uploaded photos are blocked too, because an upload cannot be checked. You must be 18 or over to sign up. Check the rules where you live before you generate or share anything.
Questions
Can I get in trouble for what I generate?
You are responsible for what you make and share. Staying within the limits above and local law is the safe path.
